ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ 24 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪਏ ਮੀਂਹ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ 23 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਇਸ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਹੈ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ 24 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ 322.2 ਮਿਲੀਮੀਟਰ ਮੀਂਹ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ 18 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2000 ਨੂੰ 262 ਮਿਲੀਮੀਟਰ ਮੀਂਹ ਪਿਆ ਸੀ। ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਟਰੈਫਿਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਘਨ ਪਿਆ।
